I still remember,
That vacant look in your eyes.
Your jaw,
Was clenched;
Anger rippled off of you.
Losing you,
Is choking me.
I still remember,
The taste of your goodbye-
Bitter,
No longer sweet.
My throat constricted,
Like a knot being tied.
A dam,
Threatened to break,
Behind my eyes.
I still remember,
The sound of the door,
Slamming against the frame.
Your silhouette slipped off,
Into the starkness of night.
Only your goodbye,
Was left,
As tears on my pillow.
Your scent has faded with time,
But dear,
I miss you.
That vacant look in your eyes.
Your jaw,
Was clenched;
Anger rippled off of you.
Losing you,
Is choking me.
I still remember,
The taste of your goodbye-
Bitter,
No longer sweet.
My throat constricted,
Like a knot being tied.
A dam,
Threatened to break,
Behind my eyes.
I still remember,
The sound of the door,
Slamming against the frame.
Your silhouette slipped off,
Into the starkness of night.
Only your goodbye,
Was left,
As tears on my pillow.
Your scent has faded with time,
But dear,
I miss you.
